Fender Musicmaster Model Solid Body Electric Guitar (1959), made in Fullerton, California, desert sand lacquer finish, alder body, maple neck with rosewood fingerboard, original two-tone hard shell case.

An early slab-board example of Fender's first student guitar, this Musicmaster was built shortly after Fender switched to rosewood fingerboards over their entire line. Built primarily to expand the company's hold on the teaching studio/young student market, these unassuming but very functional guitars were many players' first electric, far more playable than most and stylish in an understated way.

The pots on this one are dated 45th week of 1959; the neat comfortable little neck carries no date mark as typical of late 1959 instruments. A neat package with the original lightweight brown case and an cool and affordable 1950's Fender guitar for playing or collecting.
