Fender Duo-Sonic II Model Solid Body Electric Guitar (1965), made in Fullerton, California, red lacquer finish, alder body, maple neck with rosewood fingerboard, soft shell case.
This is a fairly early Duo-Sonic II, made within a year or two of the guitar's redesign with the 1964 and later components interchangeable with the Mustang series. This guitar has the longer of the two scale lengths offered, 24" as opposed to the more common 22 1/2" found on many Duo-Sonics and Musicmaster, resulting in a better-playing guitar for most applications.
Vibrant red finish very well-preserved. Something of a forgotten model, the Duo-Sonic with its solid bridge is a different feeling instrument than the tremolo-equipped Mustang it otherwise resembles. A nicely restored example and a fine-playing little guitar.
Overall length is 39 11/16 in. (100.8 cm.), 12 in. (30.5 cm.) wide at lower bout, and 1 1/2 in. (3.8 cm.) in depth, measured at side of rim. Scale length is 24 in. (610 mm.). Width of nut is 1 5/8 in. (41 mm.).
This guitar has all original period components. It has been restored from some bad experiences in the 1970's and carries routes for humbucking pickups under the pickguard. A good playing and sounding example at a lower price than an unaltered guitar. Very Good + Condition.
