Fender Musicmaster Model Solid Body Electric Guitar (1958), made in Fullerton, California, desert sand finish, alder body, maple neck, original brown hard shell case.

An early eaxmple of Fender's first student guitar…the unassuming but very functional Musicmaster. Built primarily to expand the company's hold on the teaching studio/young student market these guitars were many players' first electric, far more playable than most and stylish in an understated way.

Neck dated 3/58 and pots from the 7th week of that year; neat comfortable little neck with the classic '58 Fender "rounded V" profile. The original anodised metal pickguard still looks sharp!

A neat package, and an affordable 1950's Fender guitar for playing or collecting.

Overall length is 37 7/8 in. (96.2 cm.), 12 1/8 in. (30.8 cm.) wide at lower bout, and 1 1/2 in. (3.8 cm.) deep. Scale length is 22 1/2 in. (572 mm.).

All original except some added decorative trim has been removed, leaving a faint "racing stripe" effect in the finish on the upper bouts. Average light overall play wear. This guitar still has the original snap-on bridge cover and has not been stripped of its more valuable parts (knobs, neckplate, pots, wiring) as so many have. Plays and sounds excellent with original case, period strap, and method book. Very Good + Condition.
