Collings MF Model Carved Top Mandolin (2010), made in Austin, TX, serial # 1192, brown sunburst satin finish, maple back and sides, spruce top; maple neck with ebony fingerboard, original black tolex hard shell case.
 
Overall length is 27 1/2 in. (69.8 cm.), 9 15/16 in. (25.2 cm.) wide at lower bout, and 1 13/16 in. (4.6 cm.) in depth, measured at side of rim. Scale length is 14 in. (356 mm.). Width of nut is 1 1/8 in. (29 mm.).

This mandolin is now about 15 years old but appears to have been only lightly played so far. It remains extremely clean and well cared for. Overall the finish shows just some small handling marks, mostly very light scuffs, some tiny dings. The deep brown sunburst finish shows great rich color with no fade. A pearl-inlaid ebony armrest had been added (which is removable) set off by an similarly pearl-inlaid truss rod cover; the original cover is in the case and can easily be re-installed if desired. The frets show virtually no wear and playability is excellent, with a rich sound already matured over a decade and a half. It resides in the original HSC with the Collings warranty card.
