Paulino Bernabe Modelo 5 Model Classical Guitar (2003), made in Madrid, Spain, natural lacquer finish, Indian rosewood back and sides, cedar top; Spanish cedar neck with ebony fingerboard, molded plastic hard shell case.

The Bernabe Modelo 5 is this Spanish maker's equivalent to the Ramirez "Estudio" line, a professional grade classical concert guitar of Bernabe's design at a much more affordable price than his handmade models. The Paulino Bernabe Modelo 5 is a fine instrument, impressive in maintaining so many full professional concert features in what is technically a student level guitar.

The model 5 is constructed with all solid woods carefully selected for quality and tonal properties. The back and sides are Indian rosewood with a high quality cedar top. The neck is faced with a genuine ebony fingerboard. The instrument is lacquer finished and is fitted with Gotoh deluxe tuning machines. It is set up with a low action for a concert guitar and is quite comfortable to play. This now 20-year old guitar looks hardly played and offers an extremely fine value in a genuine Spanish made instrument, which already has a powerful rich sound that will only improve with further ageing and especially some play time.

Overall length is 39 1/4 in. (99.7 cm.), 14 3/4 in. (37.5 cm.) wide at lower bout, and 4 1/8 in. (10.5 cm.) in depth at side, taken at the end block. Scale length is 25 5/8 in. (651 mm.). Width of nut is 2 in. (51 mm.).

This guitar is an excellent player showing only some light handling marks overall and very little signs of any actual serious use. It plays and sounds very nice, a real quality Spanish instrument at a relative bargain price. The molded plastic HSC shows some external wear. Overall Excellent + Condition.
