Nacho Guitars Nachocaster Model Solid Body Electric Guitar (2022), made in Spain, serial # 0398, Butterscotch Blond lacquer finish, ash body, maple neck, original tweed hard shell case.
This is a superbly crafted relic replica of an original "Blackguard" Telecaster from the early 1950's built in Spain by Nacho Banos, renowned author of "THE BLACKGUARD BOOK (THE book on early Telecasters, detailed to the most minute degree). Nacho and crew are more than averagely passionate about these vintage guitars: the way they look, feel and sound. The "Nachocaster" is a supremely dedicated effort to recreate these exact vintage qualities on newly built instruments. Every guitar goes through an aging process to create the look of a guitar that has been heavily played for over 60 years. All materials used are selected according to vintage specs, making for as fine a "Blackguard" as has been made since 1954.
This Nachocaster has serial number 0398 stamped on the bridge plate. The body is marked TG 11/22/51 the neck Tad 3/52. the control cavity tape reads Gloria 7/19/52. It was actually made in December 2022. The maple neck has a 9.5" fret board radius with Medium 95/47 frets and the early 1950s style medium C profile, 0.82"/0.92' depth at 1/12 fret; 1.67"/2.02" width at 1/12 fret. It is a fairly lightweight example at just under 7 Lbs.
The early 50s style bridge is fitted with compensated brass saddles, for better intonation (for modern ears). The ash body has a heavily aged Butterscotch Blonde nitro lacquer finish with plenty of dings and wear marks mostly around the edges. The fingerboard and back of the neck also present as heavily worn. There is no logo on the headstock, the bridge has Nacho's stamp.
This replica is fitted with correct early '50s style hardware and Blackguard style pickups. The neck pickup reads at 8.01k ohms the Bridge pickup 9.76k ohms. The electronic configuration is modern with a humbucking mode in the middle position. The 3-way switch selects: neck pickup/both pickups in series/bridge pickups, all with tone control. The black phenolic resin pickguard is been cut, lacquered and aged to early 1950s standards. This is a very fine feeling and sounding Telecaster re-creation, about as close to an original '52 as the modern world can make. It comes with a rectangular tweed mid-50s style hard case which has not been aged.
Overall length is 38 1/4 in. (97.2 cm.), 12 3/4 in. (32.4 cm.) wide at lower bout, and 1 3/4 in. (4.4 cm.) in depth, measured at side of rim. Scale length is 25 3/4 in. (654 mm.). Width of nut is 1 1/2 in. (38 mm.)., 6.89 lbs.
This guitar is in basically hardly played, almost new condition. Of course it looks like it's been rode hard for 60+ years, but that's the idea. It performs exactly as it should and includes the original (non-aged) tweed case and full Nacho leather "goodie bag" with the various accoutrements (including the still wax-sealed COA) that come with these unique Blackguard re-creations. Fantastic sounding and ready to gig; fool your friends and/or band into thinking you scored an original Blackguard! Excellent + Condition.
