Ampeg EXB-15 Model Extension Speaker (1966), made in Linden NJ, Blue Checked Tolex finish.

Height is 29 in. (73.7 cm.), 21 in. (53.3 cm.) width, and 13 3/4 in. (34.9 cm.) deep.

The EXB-15 Extension Speaker is quite the Ampeg oddity! It was originally featured in the 1965 catalog for a list price of $170.00, while the B-15N was listed for $355.00. The extension cabinet is quite literally a B-15N without the amp mounted to the flip-top head. It features the same 15" ceramic CTS speaker and same exterior aesthetics and form otherwise.

This particular cabinet is very well-preserved. The blue check covering is very clean overall, showing light to moderate wear, mostly on lower corners, edges and back. The "flip-top" head lid is a new reproduction, as is the handle. The accompanying dolly appears to be a newer reproduction as well. All hardware on the cabinet otherwise appears original. The speaker is the original 15" ceramic CTS, marked 137-543, dating it to the 43rd week of 1965. The cone appears to be original and the speaker sounds great. The amp comes with a period Ampeg cover, which is fitted for a slightly different amp.

A quite obscure piece of Ampeg history, useful for extending an existing B-15 rig or as a new home for a stray B-15 chassis! Excellent Condition.
