Gibson ES-175D Model Arch Top Hollow Body Electric Guitar (2001), made in Kalamazoo, Michigan, serial # 02231467, dark cherry lacquer finish, laminated maple body and neck, rosewood fingerboard, black tolex hard shell case.

This is a fairly recent (well, now 20+ year old!) example of the ES-175D, Gibson's perennial "working man's" electric archtop. This deep cherry beauty has the classic features for the model with twin humbucking pickups, the standard Gibson wiring rig and a bound fingerboard with double parallelogram inlay. Gibson hit their stride with this model in 1957 and this 2001 guitar remains true to that classic design, really little changed from the late 1950s. This is an excellent player; still a great gigging jazz guitar and superb all-around electric.

Overall length is 41 1/2 in. (105.4 cm.), 16 in. (40.6 cm.) wide at lower bout, and 3 1/4 in. (8.2 cm.) in depth, measured at side of rim. Scale length is 24 3/4 in. (629 mm.). Width of nut is 1 11/16 in. (43 mm.).

This is a nice, relatively clean original 20+ year old guitar in a fairly rare deep cherry finish. It has been played; the lacquer shows handling marks with some scuffs and minor dings but no serious wear. There is some light spotting on the back of unknown origin. The plating also has some very light wear. A strap button has been added to the heel. The original frets show hardly any wear and this is a fine playing, especially sharp looking 175 with the expected classic sound. Overall Excellent Condition.
