Linus Guitars Flat Top Acoustic Guitar (2015)
Linus Guitars Flat Top Acoustic Guitar (2015), made in Brooklyn, NY, serial # 1508, Natural french polish finish, mahogany sides and back, spruce top; mahogany neck with ebony fingerboard. Item # 7761
This very fine flat-top guitar is the work of local luthier Brian Bauhs. It is a unique creation with a smaller Martin style body and a full-scale 14 fret neck. It features mahogany sides and back with a tight-grained spruce top. The mahogany neck is carbon fiber reinforced and has a 2-way trussrod, fitted with an ebony fretboard and headstock overlay. Ornament includes traditional herringbone purfling, pearl snowflake and diamond fretboard inlay with the classic Style 45 torch inlay on the headstock. The side features a modern sidehole soundport, otherwise the guitar is quite traditional including a very light French polish shellac finish. This is an elegantly built and very good sounding guitar, a one-of-a-kind creation.
Overall length is 39 3/4 in. (101 cm.), 14 1/4 in. (36.2 cm.) wide at lower bout, and 4 3/16 in. (10.6 cm.) in depth at side, taken at the end block. Scale length is 25 1/4 in. (641 mm.). Width of nut is 1 3/4 in. (44 mm.). There is some light play wear to the guitar, but it has not been heavily used. There is one repaired side crack to lower bout but only light wear to the finish. This is a very nice playing guitar, with a unique feel. Excellent Condition.
