Fender Champ 5D1 Tube Guitar Amplifier, c. 1952
Fender Champ 5D1 Model Tube Guitar Amplifier (1952), made in Fullerton, California, serial # 4229, tweed fabric covering finish. Item # 6794
The classic "home" amp in any configuration, the Fender Champ is still one of the all-time great amplifier designs. This early model has the older style back-mounted panel with a single volume knob, not as loud as later '50's examples but equally toneful.
Height is 10 7/8 in. (27.6 cm.), 12 in. (30.5 cm.) width, and 7 1/4 in. (18.4 cm.) in depth at deepest point.
A nice example overall, mostly original with some recent servicing-one changed capacitor and added 3 prong power cable. The back panel and tweed are cleaner and better preserved on than many of these. Sounds great, you can crank this in the living room and not wake the neighbors! Very Good + Condition.
