Epiphone Electar Zephyr Solo Console 6-String High Steel Electric Guitar (1941)
Epiphone Electar Zephyr Solo Console 6-String Model High Steel Electric Guitar (1941), made in New York City, serial # 6311, natural lacquer finish, maple body with prima vera wood laminations, original brown hard shell case. Item # 5101
Overall length is 32 in. (81.3 cm.), 9 in. (22.9 cm.) width, and 3 in. (7.6 cm.) in depth, measured at side of rim. Scale length is 22 1/2 in. (572 mm.). Width of nut is 2 1/4 in. (57 mm.). A very nice original and early console steel, including case and removable stand-even (as far as we can tell) down to the strings! The original pickup was just rewound by Tom Brantley and sounds fabulous. One short side edge of the stand is suffering celluloid disintegration on the bottom, and the rubber feet have crumbled. A really cool old console steel that is also quite playable lap style and sounds nice even unplugged, due to the hollow body. Excellent Condition.
