The Ace was Rickenbacker's late 1940s student amp, issued as a set with a simple lap steel and sold mostly through teaching studios. This was a typical simple student amp, with two inputs and a single volume knob. This one has some wear and tear but remains a good-sounding little amp. The output transformer looks to have been replaced long ago, and recently the amp had a cap job and a 3-prong power cord added. The front grill once had a decorative Hawaiian scene; now just some random flocking and color remains. The handle is a later addition, a plastic unit on rings replacing the original leather. A neat little amp, snarly rather than saturated-sounding, but fun to play. Very Good + Condition.
