Paulino Bernabe Estudio Model Classical Guitar, c. 1960's, made in Madrid, Spain
Madrid, natural finish, African mahogany (sapele) back and sides, pine top; mahogany neck with ebonized rosewood fingerboard, period black hard shell case.
Overall length is 39 in. (99.1 cm.), 14 1/4 in. (36.2 cm.) wide at lower bout, and 3 7/8 in. (9.8 cm.) in depth at side, taken at the end block. Scale length is 25 3/4 in. (654 mm.). Width of nut is 2 1/8 in. (54 mm.). This guitar has been well played and there are numerous small dings and dents to the finish, but no major finish loss. The only notable major repair is an old top seam re-seal. This "Estudio' model was crafted as a lower priced but fine sounding instrument for students, using less expensive woods and fairly roughly finished out construction. Even though built to a price, the guitars were still excellent sounding and playing instruments fully up to the standards of the Bernabe shop. This is a lovely sounding and good playing instrument, superior as a player's piece to many fancier and more cleanly built guitars. Overall Very Good + Condition.
